People often say 'the Salwa border' or 'the Abu Samra border'. They mean the same crossing, seen from each side.
Pre-registration is vehicle-specific
Metrash pre-registration is for Qatari-registered vehicles. Whether it applies to your trip depends on the vehicle you travel in.
Onward travel goes through Saudi Arabia
Qatar has no land border with Bahrain or the UAE. A road trip to either crosses Saudi Arabia first.
